For those preferring a later start time, we will meet at 8:15 am roadside near the beginning of Joe Overstreet Rd.  Joe Overstreet Road is a rural road ending at a Landing on Lake Kissimmee. Red-headed Woodpeckers and Eastern Bluebirds have been observed near the start of the road.  On the drive to the Landing we will check the pastures for resident species such as Florida Sandhill Crane, Wild Turkey, Eastern Meadowlark, Bald Eagle, Crested Caracara and Loggerhead Shrike. We will check the boat ramp area and marsh for Limpkins and ibis. Bring along a spotting scope to search for Snail Kites, which cruise over Lake Kissimmee in search of apple snails. We will scan the lake for wintering ducks and Purple Gallinule.

Bring your snacks, lunch, water, bins, scopes, cameras for a fun day. At the end of the road there is a campsite, store and restrooms.  You may want to bring snacks and a packed lunch to eat while enjoying the view of Lake Kissimmee.
